Update of the M.V. Oyster Catcher from Bear, Delaware

After our 24 hour shakedown run from the Severn River Marina, Virgina to Bear, Delaware we stopped to take on fuel. While going over the systems during out stop, we discovered several issues with the engine's electrical system.

Upon further inspection of the system, we discovered several failed selector switches and a two bad solenoids. We suspect that these problems were caused by a short in the boat's AC battery charging and house battery bridging system. We rebuilt the engine electrical system to exclude the unknown short and are now awaiting parts to compete our repair. The M.V. Oyster Catcher is standing by in Bear, Delaware. We will post an update of our progress when we have completed our repairs and are back underway.

The culprit: A failed solenoid switch on the port engine
